It’s been a while since I last wrote one of these posts, and actually if you’re new to Rinky Dinky Rhi you probably haven’t seen one before as they’re all on my old domain. FYI I’m still working on sorting my domain so bear with me.
Ray Donovan | Amazon Prime and Sky Boxsets | Crime, Drama
“Ray Donovan, a professional “fixer” for the rich and famous in LA, can make anyone’s problems disappear except those created by his own family.”
I’m mentioning this one first as it’s been the only show we’ve watched that has been all-consuming. We’ve absolutely blasted through the five seasons in a really short amount of time. We’ve found it really easy to watch and unlike most shows, hasn’t had a duff season – you know the ones which you really have to force yourself to plow through hoping it’ll find its way again.
The Office (US) | Netflix (US) and DVD | Comedy
“A mockumentary on a group of typical office workers, where the workday consists of ego clashes, inappropriate behavior, and tedium.”
We started rewatching this when we went to Las Vegas at at the start of December because it’s all on the US Netflix – come on UK Netflix, catch up! This is one of our favourite comedy series ever and this is our second time watching through it.
The Orville | Fox | Adventure, Comedy, Drama
“Follows the crew of the not-so-functional exploratory ship in the Earth’s interstellar fleet, 400 years in the future.”
I’m a big Family Guy fan so anything by Seth MacFarlane always catches my eye. As a rule I’m not a Sci Fi fan, especially anything too spacey, but the trailers I’d seen made it look funny so we’ve started watching it. We’re probably four episodes in and I can’t say I’m too into it. It’s too much like a Star Trek spoof and it’s just not funny enough to keep me interested. We may give up on it soon.
Stranger Things | Netflix | Drama, Fantasy, Horror
“When a young boy disappears, his mother, a police chief, and his friends, must confront terrifying forces in order to get him back.”
When Stranger Things first started, I tried watching it and gave up after maybe half the first season. Again, it was a bit Sci Fi for me and to be honest, I didn’t get the hype. My husband loved it though and carried on watching without me. He loves the nostalgic feeling it gives him as it’s got 80s vibes. When Stranger Things season two launched, I’d seen the trailer and thought it might be worth trying again. I still didn’t love it but I got though season one. But I absolutely loved season two – I found it so much more enjoyable. Shout out to Dustin for being the cutest kid ever, mind you they’re all cute and so bloody talented at such a young age but Dustin is my fave!!
Not many to talk about this time but we’ve got a list of shows we want to get through next and also some new shows have just started which I really enjoy so I’ll be able to talk about them next time. I’d love to hear what you’ve all been watching lately – do let me know in the comments section below. As always, thank you so much for reading…
