At this point probably 75% of my wardrobe is made up of purchases from Next. Their online directory and VIP sales make it so hard to resist. Plus they’re always adding new brands to their site too so it just keeps getting better. Then the other day while I was hanging around outside the changing rooms while my friend was trying on some clothes, I spotted a makeup stand which looked all rose gold and shiny. So this magpie trotted over to have a look. I’m always a little skeptical of makeup collections from non-beauty companies, but if Primark makeup has taught me anything it’s that beauty companies have some serious competition coming their way.
The first thing I saw was a highlight which I was instantly drawn to. I swatched it and it was so buttery smooth and creamy and the shade is my dream champagne gold. Then I saw an all in one palette with eyeshadows, blush, bronzer and highlight which again, swatched beautifully. Next I saw a plethora (love that word) of nude shade lip products. I was definitely tempted to buy a load of stuff, especially when I spotted the 3 for 2 stickers. But then my friend came out of the changing rooms and we left.
I’m the kind of person that will sit and think about the things I didn’t buy… until I give in and buy it! So after a couple of days I had a look on the Next website to see what they had available. I ended up ordering a lot of goodies…

Next All In One Makeup Palette in Natural | £12 | available here
Next Highlighting Powder | £6 | available here
I have tried this mattifying powder a couple of times just to set my under eyes and mattify my oily areas. It didn’t make me look dry, it just set things down nicely. I am fussy about what I use under my eyes as they can look about 100 years old very easily, but this was really smoothing.
I have never been attracted to these all in one palettes. I like to have my favourite eyeshadow, blusher, bronzer and highlight from all different brands. But when I swatched this one in store, it all felt lovely and the shades were just right for me. It literally had everything I’d need all in one palette. So next time I’m packing for some time away I’ll definitely be taking this in an effort to pack lightly – of which I am completely incapable!
This!! This beautiful highlight reminds me so much of one of my all time favourites – Citrine by Jouer. I had to have it. I’ve used it once so far and holy macaroni, it is pig-ment-ed! I’m almost scared to use it again because it was so intense!

Next Tinted Lip Balm in In The Buff | £6 | available here
Next Precision Lip Liner in In The Buff | £3 | available in store
Next High Shine Lip Gloss in In The Buff | £5 | available here
The packaging of this lipstick is so sleek and pretty. You can kind of see in the photo above that it’s got an opalescent shift to the packaging. It also has a really satisfying magnetic closure. The lipstick itself is quite rosy rather than a nude. It is also a little patchy on the lips due to its matte finish. If it weren’t for the packaging, this would be a fail from me!
This is my official day to day lip product. As much as I love to wear lipstick every day, it’s a ball ache to keep reapplying throughout the day. This tinted lip balm is spot on as it adds just enough colour to the lips but isn’t noticeable as it wears off.
For some reason, you can’t buy the lip liner on its own online as it only comes in a set. But you can buy them individually in store which is what I did. The lip liner is really creamy and easy to apply but isn’t too long-lasting. I do love the shade though, it’s one of those natural shades which can make over-lining the lips natural looking.
If you like your lip glosses to be shiny, slightly shimmery, not sticky and smelling of vanilla buttercream then you will like this one. Considering I bought all the lip products in the same shade, they’re all quite different. The lipstick is rosy, the lip balm is brown, the lip liner is natural and the lip gloss is pale pink. I love the shade of this lip gloss though. It’s perfect for layering on any nude lipstick or lip liner.
Overall I am very impressed with Next’s makeup range. The packaging is on point – very blogger friendly! Other than the lipstick, I love everything I’ve tried and I’d definitely be interested in trying some more products as more are released in the future. I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled!
