Colourpop | HAUL

About a year ago I placed my first Colourpop order after hearing so many influencers rave about their awesome products for bargain prices. Although I quite liked the things I bought, I honestly didn’t find myself reaching for them that often. Then a few weeks ago, I was watching a Jackie Aina video where she was going through the Colourpop x Ellarie collaboration products. There were a couple of lip products which really caught my attention so I headed over to the website. I also had some of their pressed eyeshadows on my wishlist so I started looking through them. Before I knew it, the order was placed with free international delivery no less.

First things first, the thing that everyone wants to know when ordering from the States. How much did I have to pay for customs? I had a charge of £16, which I was a bit gutted about TBH! That’s a lot considering my total spend was only $51.50. But when you think that delivery was free, it kind of balances out so I can’t be too pissed off.

As I said, the main products which made me place the order were the Ellarie Lippie Stix and Lippie Liner. These are gorgeous deep red shades, but the lip liner is quite a bit darker than the lipstick. The shade difference creates the most beautiful red ombre lip which I cannot wait to bust out in Autumn / Winter. It looks so pouty and vampy – I love it! I’m not a huge fan of Colourpop’s liquid lipsticks but the Lippie Stix are amazing, plus the Lippie Pencils are really creamy and pigmented.

Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow in Posey | $5 | no longer available

Colourpop Haul

In my last Colourpop order I bought a lot of the single Super Shock eyeshadows and I’ve barely touched them even though they’re gorgeous shades. I’m also not 100% sold on the weird spongey cream formula. BUT… as I was browsing, the shade Posey really stood out. I think this was part of the My Little Pony collection, but I can’t seem to find it on the website now and it didn’t come in the MLP packaging like other pics on Google Images are. The swatches of this shadow looked like a pretty glittery pink, but it’s very sheer in person. It makes a good eyeshadow topper to add some extra shimmer but it’s pretty disappointing as a single shadow.

Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter in Felicity | $8 | available here

Colourpop Haul

I’ve heard really amazing things about the Super Shock Highlighters so I thought I’d get one to see if I need more! Unfortunately this one came smashed up, but thanks to the weird formula I did manage to squish it back into place. I went for the shade Felicity which is a gold with pink and copper pearl. On the website it looks really cool and marbled but in real life it’s nothing like that! It also swatches exactly like the Posey eyeshadow so I definitely didn’t need both! Like seriously, they’re identical.

Colourpop You Had Me At Hello | $18 | available here

Colourpop Haul

Finally, I went for a couple of eyeshadow palettes as, again, I’d heard good things. The first one I went for is the You Had Me At Hello palette. The Colourpop pressed eyeshadows are supposed to be really impressive and good competition for higher end eyeshadows. The shadows are extremely soft and creamy – I’m actually really surprised they didn’t shatter in transit. You’ll see in the swatches just how pigmented they are, and that is only from a very light swipe in the pans. I have used a few of the shadows and I’m pretty impressed. They’re really easy to blend and a much better formula than the Super Shock Shadows. The palette is very compact and has a good mirror in it too. I love the shade selection in this palette, mainly neutral shades with a lovely pop of purple.

Colourpop Take Me Home | $10 | no longer available

The last item I picked up was the Take Me Home palette which is a super dinky one. Just like the You Had Me At Hello palette, the shadows are very soft (particularly the first shade which is almost too soft). I’ve used this once or twice, but as you know from my last few posts I’ve got a lot of other palettes which I’m reaching for all the time. But on the couple of times I’ve used it, it’s been good. It’s a simple every day shade range which I think any one would get a lot of use out of.

I really wish Colourpop would come over to the UK properly, because to be honest I can’t justify any more purchases with the customs charges. There’s a lot of other brands over here which are just as good and inexpensive, like Revolution Makeup, which are readily available without the long dispatch time and customs charges. So I have a feeling this will be the last order I place with them.

  1. I am a huge colourpop fan and I am happy I got get to pay extra custom charges but I definitely understand why you wouldn’t order again, it’s annoying. I would love to try makeup from Revolution Makeup

  2. I just made my first Colourpop purchase! I bought two bronzers. I am happy enough with my purchase; I was searching mainly for the color (reddish brown matte bronzers are actually pretty hard to find) but I do have quite a bit of fall out. Also, they’re packaging is weird. They send the pan and the case separately and you have to put it together… but the name of the color is on the pan, not the holder so I have to remove the pan every time to make sure I’m using the right one. I’m glad some of this was a hit for you! That Ellarie lip combo is GORGEOUS and such a signature for her look! They definitely nailed that collab!

    1. That packaging sounds annoying – why don’t companies think about these things?!
I didn’t actually know of Ellarie before this collab, so didn’t realise it was a signature look for her. It’s absolutely stunning x

      1. I wouldn’t mind the packaging if they included a little sticker or something so I’d know which is which, but alas. Ellarie is known for her complexion (blend is amazing) and her lips! I used to watch a lot of her back in the day as she was one of the first major black beauty gurus. Can’t wait to see pictures of this lippie on you!

  3. This was a really great and informative haul!! 🙂 I love the “You Had Me At Hello” palette. There’s a good range of neutrals there that’d be perfect for a day to day look! Glad to hear the shadows are easy to blend. I live in the US but I might invest in this palette! Lovely post! ❤

  4. That highlighter does look so pretty – what a shame it arrived smashed! (Did you complain they often give vouchers out when stuff goes wrong or they resend without the need to pay customs?)
That red lippie stick is such a gorgeous shade – bet it looks lovely on you, I don’t wear my lippie stix enough, they’re such a lovely formula.
I have two of their new lux lipsticks on the way and one of the loose pigments to try!

    1. I didn’t think to complain really – I just accepted that there’s bound to be some breakage in transit! But now I know that, I’ll send them a message.
I can’t wait to hear what you think of the Lux lipsticks, I almost bought some but all the shades I wanted were out of stock x
