What’s On Rhi’s TV Episode #4 | LIFESTYLE

I love catching up with family and friends and asking “what are you watching at the minute?” as we’re always looking for the next series to binge watch! So by writing this What’s On Rhi’s TV series, I’m hoping I’m helping you guys find your new favourite TV show. I may also start a movie version of this series as a bonus monthly post, so if that’s something you’d be interested in reading then let me know!

Parks and Recreation | Amazon Prime | Comedy

Parks and Recreation

The main thing we’ve been binge watching is Parks and Rec. We’re both big fans of The Office US, and most people would say that if you like one you’ll like the other. I started watching this on my own as Dan was not convinced he’d like it, but he soon came to his senses and realised it’s bloody brilliant. The main highlight of the show is Ron Swanson #legend. Plus Chris Pratt is in it, so you know it’s going to be funny.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely!!

Slasher | Netflix | Drama, Mystery, Horror

One of my favourite film genres is slasher horrors i.e. Scream, Friday the 13th, Halloween etc. so this show sounded like it’d be right up my street. Although it was easy to watch while getting ready for work, it wasn’t really that great. It had potential to be awesome, but the acting was weak and it was quite predictable. It felt like I’d seen it all before. I believe it’s got the green light for a second season, but it really doesn’t need one.

Would I recommend it? It’s worth a watch, but don’t expect too much.

Revenge | Amazon | Drama, Mystery, Thriller

Probably my favourite of everything I’m watching at the minute. I love a tween drama – PLL, Gossip Girl, The OC… they’re my faves. This one is a little darker than those but just as addictive and easy to watch. I’ve been hooked on this show since the first episode. It’s a little ridiculous and far fetched at times, but it’s very entertaining. The number of times Dan’s been in a different room and he’s heard me going  ‘OH MY GOD!’ or ‘NOOOO!’ at the TV! The main character, Emily, is the epitome of girl power too.

Would I recommend it? If you love an over-the-top tween drama, then yes.

The Assassination of Gianni Versace | FX| Biography, Crime, Drama

American Crime Story

This is the second season from American Crime Story, and it’s (obviously) all about the murder of Gianni Versace. I was quite young when he was killed, but I remember the news and some of the headlines. I knew very little about the backstory and the man who killed him so I was really interested to watch this – I do love a bit of true crime. Just like the first season, I can’t get over how perfect the casting is. They really nail the styling to make the actors look exactly like the real people they’re portraying. The acting is also absolutely spot on (despite some initial concerns over Penelope Cruz’s accent in that I couldn’t understand a damn word she was saying). All that being said, I have found this series has dragged on a bit. I really wish they hadn’t messed around with the timeline so much as it’s felt a bit muddled to me. We’ve got one episode left to watch and I think I’ll be glad when it’s over.

Would I recommend it? If you like true crime, then you’ll probably find it interesting.

Marcella | ITV | Crime, Drama, Mystery

Again, this is the second series. I loved the first series as it kept me guessing until the end. I did like this series, but just like American Crime Story it felt like it dragged a bit. Plus I found myself getting really tired of Marcella and her sh*t, especially right at the end. I have to say I probably won’t bother watching the third series.

Would I recommend it? I have recommended it to people before and they’ve loved it, so it might just be me who didn’t love this series.

RuPaul’s Drag Race (All Stars 3 and Season 10) | Netflix | Game Show, Reality TV

RPDR has definitely been on one of these posts before, but I just have to talk about the two most recent seasons which I’ve been watching – All Stars 3 and season 10. Firs off, I loved AS3… right until the finale. I didn’t agree with the way the finalists were whittled down and definitely didn’t think the right person won. I won’t mention any names as I know some people who haven’t seen it yet but… just know I ain’t happy. So far, season 10 is awesome too. One thing I need to say… when will these queens learn that doing Beyoncé on Snatch Game is NEVER a good idea?!

Would I recommend it? YES – and I do, to anyone who’ll listen!

And there’s been a couple of other shows I’ve continued watching – Gotham (still loving it) and Bates Motel (glad it’s finished) but I’ve definitely mentioned them in previous posts. You can read my last TV post here.

I’d love to hear what shows you’ve been loving so I can start something new as I’m running out of episodes of Revenge now. Leave me some recommendations in the comments below please! Thank you so much for reading…
