I was scrolling though Twitter earlier this week and I don’t know what sparked it but I had a *ping blog post idea* moment. This hasn’t happened very often in my blogging life – I don’t consider myself to be a very innovative or creative person, I just like talking about makeup and stuff. Now, I’m not saying that this has never been done before, in fact there’s probably a tag going around but I haven’t seen any posts of this nature before so I’m going with it.
The idea is to look through my collection and put together a full face of makeup using all my most expensive products. It will be a two part series (does two constitute a series?!), with the second part coming next week. The second part will be the opposite end of the spectrum, a full face using, yep you guessed it, my least expensive products. I’m toying with the idea of doing a third part with a half and half makeup look to compare the two to see whether it’s worth spending more on certain products – now that I have seen before, but they’re more ‘a full face of dupes’ type posts.
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that with cold weather comes dry skin. Now I’m an oily girl, and I’m a fan of a matte base as it’s less likely to slide off my face throughout the day. But during winter months my skin does become dry in patches and this doesn’t mix well with a matte finish as it makes my skin look scaly.
In the Summer, my natural oils peek through to give a more healthy glow but in the colder months you have to find ways to fake it. So today, I’m sharing with you my favourite illuminators, which you can use under or mixed with foundation, to add some dew to dry skin.
I’ve gone back and forth on whether to do this post or not but when I thought about the other ones I’ve read this month, I decided it’s just as interesting to hear about disappointing products as it is to hear about amazing ones. It should go without saying that I’m not posting this to be a troll, or to bash products that some people might have loved last year, they are just products which didn’t work for me.
I’ve been on a bit of a metallic nail polish mission of late, and seem to have picked up 5 different ones in the last couple of weeks. With the festive season almost upon us, which is obviously the perfect time to add some sparkle, I thought I’d share them with you.
Today I’m sharing with you my most worn liquid lipsticks – I’ve gathered together the ones I seem to reach for 99% of the time. Yes, I’m sure you’ll see a theme of the type of shade I tend to go for!
