Wet n Wild UK Haul

One of the most exciting launches of the year so far (for me anyway) has been Wet n Wild coming over to the UK… finally! Beauty Bay had a very public conscious uncoupling with Morphe and rebounded into the arms of Wet n Wild, and I’m here to offer all my support.

I received some BB vouchers for my birthday in July and decided to save them for the Wet n Wild launch. However, at this point I need to tell you of my frustrations with BB. At Christmas I received some BB vouchers (can you tell how well my family know me?!) and when I went to spend them, the transaction failed but my gift voucher amount still went down. BB are unable to reimburse the gift vouchers but were able to offer me a refund on anything I bought after that up to the value of my gift vouchers. Well… as you can imagine when Wet n Wild launched, the website was chock-a-block. I quickly got my basket loaded and went to pay with my vouchers but lo and behold, the same thing happened as before but not just once, three times!! Almost £60 worth of my vouchers were swallowed up. Yet again, I had to go back to BB and ask how they can resolve this and after A LOT of back and forth, they have said they will refund any future purchases I make. OK so the issues have been resolved in both cases but this seems like a really stupid way of doing it. So in order to use my vouchers, I need to spend more and wait to be refunded? How about just not take money when transactions fail in the first place? As much as I love BB, it has left a bitter taste in my mouth.

But what you care about is what I bought right? Well here it is…

Collection, Haul

Anyone who knows me well, will be reading the title of this post thinking ‘Yeah right, Rhi. There’s nothing you won’t buy, you bloody spendaholic!’ But they’d be wrong… I’ve come to realise there’s a number of brands / products that I have chosen to avoid. I don’t want this to be a negative, hateful post I just want to share my thoughts.

~ Charlotte Tilbury ~

I’m getting this one out of the way first because I think I’m almost alone in this within the blogging community. Actually I do own one product from C Tilbs but it’s helped me to decide that I’m not really bothered about trying anything else. I have one of the matte lipsticks and I swear it destroys my lips and makes them so dry and sore for days after. I feel like there’s too much hype around this brand. Every other picture on Instagram contains a token CT lipstick. There is one product which I have to admit I do desperately want to try, and that’s the Airbrush Flawless Finish powder, but I cannot believe how expensive it is for what it is. I’m also not sold on the shade range so I don’t think I’ll be buying any time soon.

I don’t know what it is about this brand but I have zero interest in it. For one, everything seems to be hella expensive. But also nothing really excites me. The Ombre Blackstar eyeshadow sticks are supposed to be really good but are they any better than any other shadow stick I have in my collection already for a fraction of the price?

~ Natasha Denona ~

OK, so maybe saying I have NO intention of buying anything from ND is not 100% true. I would absolutely love to buy an ND eyeshadow palette but have you seen the prices?! There are two eyeshadow palettes which I really want to get my hands on but one is £205 and the other is much cheaper but still ridiculously priced at £145.50. I’m thinking if I ever do own one of these it’ll be because I’ve asked Santa for it for Christmas!

~ Kylie Cosmetics ~

There have been a number of products which Kylie has launched which I’d like to try but I’m not so fussed about being ready at the time of release to buy before they go out of stock and I’m also not living for import taxes. I think so many of her products are easily duped within the UK now that I don’t need Kylie’s name on them.

~ Jo Malone Fragrances ~

I’m at risk of being banished from the blogging community right now. First CT and now JM?! I’ve stopped at the JM counter at duty free a few times and sniffed probably every fragrance they have to offer but not one has been my cup of tea. And I’m not fussy when it comes to fragrances at all. There’s very little I don’t like. It’s not that I disliked them, I just wasn’t fussed by them. I know there’s a whole special bespoke service with layering and all that, but there’s far more perfumes out there that I can buy as is without having to make a cocktail every time I want to wear it.

~ Farsali ~

I have no intention of dripping oil onto my face Insta stylee. That’s all I’m going to say.

I do have to end by saying that while these particular brands and products aren’t my thing, I am not bashing anyone whose bag they are. Each to their own. A lot of these brands and products are popular for a reason, they just don’t appeal to me right now. HOWEVER… I will forever be a spendaholic so I’d be interested to hear counter arguments in the comments section. If I’m missing out and my stubbornness is stopping me from discovering something that I’d love, please do let me know your thoughts.

Thank you so much for reading…

Revolution Makeup with Swatches | HAUL

There’s one budget brand which I keep going back to time and time again. Revolution Beauty just kills it by dropping new products regularly which are purse friendly and high quality. When I popped into Superdrug the other day, I found myself filling my basket with new goodies so I thought I’d share the haul with you today.

touch in SOL is a Korean brand that every one seems to be talking about, so obvs I had to get involved. I’ve seen countless reviews of the No Poreblem Primer so that was definitely on my wishlist but as I browsed through their range there were a couple of other items which caught my attention, so here’s a teeny tiny haul.

Colourpop Haul

Colourpop | HAUL

About a year ago I placed my first Colourpop order after hearing so many influencers rave about their awesome products for bargain prices. Although I quite liked the things I bought, I honestly didn’t find myself reaching for them that often. Then a few weeks ago, I was watching a Jackie Aina video where she was going through the Colourpop x Ellarie collaboration products. There were a couple of lip products which really caught my attention so I headed over to the website. I also had some of their pressed eyeshadows on my wishlist so I started looking through them. Before I knew it, the order was placed with free international delivery no less.
