IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream | REVIEW

Review

As much as I love a proper foundation, I seem to mainly gravitate towards BB and CC creams. So recently I’ve been trying out a few different ones. I have wanted to try the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream for years and since I’ve been in a CC cream place I haven’t been able to get it off my mind. Even more so when Boots launched IT Cosmetics and I’ve been seeing it around more. In the end, I succumbed but I actually made my purchase from QVC as I wanted to try out the brush too.

You can buy the CC cream and brush for £37.50 from QVC here but you can buy the CC cream on its own for £30 from Boots here – they don’t seem to stock this particular brush at Boots though. As much as it’s a good deal from QVC, I have to point out that when you buy more than one thing you have to pay P&P for each item. Occasionally they’ll have deals where you don’t pay for additional items but more often than not you end up spending £3.95 per item. I think this is absolutely ridiculous, and I can’t think of another company that does this. It does put me off purchasing from them in the future. As well as this CC cream and brush, I bought an IT Cosmetics mascara and a back up Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and ended up paying £11.85 P&P… like what the f*ck?!

But anyway… was it worth it?

The shade range of this CC cream is mediocre. I’m aware of how fortunate I am that I have never struggled to find a colour match as I have light, warm-toned skin, but I’m also well aware of the struggle that others face when brands put out a crap shade selection. The good thing about CC creams is you can get away with a slightly off shade as it’s a much more sheer coverage and it’s easier to blend. I went for light, and it’s a perfect match for me.

The coverage is just what I look for in an every day base. It colour corrects and evens everything out but still looks light and natural. It has quite a glowy finish on me, but doesn’t look oily. It also feels very light on the skin.

It lasts very well throughout the day, without getting more glowy i.e. greasy! I don’t need to touch anything up during my day at work. It doesn’t settle into lines or pores nor does it ever look cakey. Believe me when I say, this has been put through it with the current UK heatwave and even through sweat it stays intact. It has fast become my go-to every day base.

Let’s also talk about the fact that it’s got SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad-spectrum sunscreen – which is bloody amazing. I can’t comment on whether this causes any white cast in flash photography though (because I don’t tend to take flash photographs at work, funnily enough!) so use with caution if that’s what you’re into.

I think this product would be very well suited to ‘early-aging’ skin like mine. I’m early 30s and fine lines are starting to appear and as I said, it doesn’t settle in them at all. It feels hydrating and plumping so is much more flattering than a completely matte base.

There’s not a lot I can say about the brush. It’s very soft and blends out the CC cream beautifully. I’ve also used it with other cream bases and it does a fab job. However, I do tend to apply the CC cream with my hands (purely out of laziness and haste in the morning) so I haven’t used the brush too much.

So would I recommend it? Yes, definitely! I have been loving using this CC cream every day. My only gripe is that it’s up there in price. I have another CC cream which I was religiously using up until buying the IT Cosmetics one which is significantly cheaper (like around the £6 mark), so would I repurchase the IT Cosmetics one immediately… possibly not. I’m glad I’ve finally tried it though, and if you want to splurge (or if you don’t buy a million different bits of makeup on the regular, like me) then definitely check it out.

I LOVE receiving comments – it makes me feel all happy and like people are actually reading my blog! So drop me a comment and let me know your thoughts on the IT Cosmetics CC Cream and Heavenly Skin brush.

Thank you so much for reading…

Empties #3 | COLLECTION

Collection

It’s been a while since I opened my empties box – yes, bloggers get into the habit of essentially keeping their rubbish and putting it all together so they can talk about it in a future post. I have a purple shoe box which lives in my wardrobe, and whenever I finish a product I pop the empty packaging in there and forget about it for weeks on end, until it gets to an amount that’s worth photographing and writing about.

Glam Glow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturiser | REVIEW

Review

After my recent dabble in Glam Glow face masks (read the post all about those here) I’ve been keen to try more from the brand, so when I saw the Glam Glow stand in Sephora in LV last year, I had a look through what else was available. I’d seen influencers raving about the Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturiser when that launched but being oily, I knew it wouldn’t be for me. So when I spotted the matte lover’s alternative, in the basket it went.

Glam Glow Supermud Gift Set | REVIEW

Review

Last week, my skin started to break out like crazy, particularly around my jawline. It didn’t feel like a reaction to anything, just my unhealthy lifestyle mixed with hormones seemed to explode on my face. This coincided with me hitting £50 in Boots Advantage Card points so I went online to find some luxurious skincare goodies to try and attack the blemishes.

I have wanted to try the Glam Glow masks for the longest time and thought now would be a good time to try the Supermud mask as it’s supposed to be very effective at clearing problem skin. I found the full size Supermud mask for £42 (available here) and popped it in my basket. Then as I scrolled down the page to the “Customers who viewed this also viewed” section and saw a Glam Glow Supermud Gift Set and clicked on.
